Nerves
The hand depends on the nerves which innervate it to convey sensory information to the central nervous system and to control movement. The importance of the nerve supply of the hand is reflected in a relatively large area of sensory and motor cortex. Nerves can be affected by many disorders including injury and compression neuropathies.
